Union Station Los Angeles recently celebrated its 80th anniversary, and a two-day celebration was held to mark the occasion. I was planning to shoot my entire May roll during the festivities, but I only managed to shot a few frames while there. I went back the following week when the station was less crowded. Here’s my May pick for the Frugal Film Project

  1. Hello out there……I’m the late joiner. Next time in in LA (and I have no idea when that will be, but we do have family there) I’ll have to go to the Train Station. I love old buildings and the architecture is beautiful.

I’d love to photograph the interior of our Station here in Denver, but unfortunately some very inconsiderate photographers have taken workshops there to photograph without permission and cause some problems. Now no tripods allowed…….

    1. I’m glad you’re taking part in the project. Union Station is one of my favorite buildings in LA. I don’t think the use of tripod is allowed, but leaning on walls and holding my breath helps with slower shutter speed. What I love about doing this project is that it allowed me to rediscover the city. I’ve often times just drive by these places, and not bother to notice and appreciate it. I hope you’ll get to visit LA soon, to see and photograph some beautiful architecture. Happy Shooting!
