2017 | Mount Rushmore

The second stop on our South Dakota trip was Mount Rushmore. I really enjoyed seeing the beautiful Black Hills landscape as we drove up the mountain. It was mid afternoon when we arrived and I was feeling a bit tired. We’ve been traveling for days and we still had a few more days of travel ahead. I didn’t hike up the Presidential Trail instead I took photos as I walked around the observation deck and amphitheater.

2017 | Crazy Horse Memorial

We spent a few hours in South Dakota, and visited the Crazy Horse Memorial. The museum offers van rides that can take visitors to the top of the carving and see Crazy Horse up close. Since our time was limited, we settled for a walk around the museum and took photos of the monument from the viewing deck.

2017 | Buckingham Palace

It was our last day in London, and our last sightseeing stop was Buckingham Palace. It was during our lunch break at St. Paul’s Cathedral, when made the decision to make a quick stop at Buckingham Palace. We rode the District Line to St. James Park and had an enjoyable walk from the station on the way to the palace. The rest of our afternoon was spent shopping for gifts and packing our luggage.
All photos were taken with a Leica M6/CV Color-Skopar 35/2.5 on Arista Premium 400 and Arista EDU Ultra 400. Both films are expired.

2017 | St. Paul’s Cathedral, UK

We had an early start on a cloudy Easter Monday. As it was a holiday in the UK, the tube was not crowded and the streets looked deserted.  When we arrived at the cathedral, there was a long line of people at the ticket counter. Since we bought our tickets online, we only had to go through security check. We signed up for the 90-minute guided tour which made our visit to the cathedral more interesting. We did not plan on climbing up to the Golden Gallery, but we decided to just go for it since we were already there and we might not pass this way again. The climb was a bit hard, and we had to take a few breaks on the way up.  After 528-steps, we made it to the Golden Gallery and were rewarded with a panoramic view of London. I am less keen on heights, and so I tightly held on the railings, took in the view, and forgot to take a photo.

2017 | Blenheim Palace

We ended Easter Sunday with a visit to Blenheim Palace, the principal residence of the Duke of Marlborough. It is also the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Most of our time was spent touring the State Rooms with its price collections, the library, the Churchill exhibit, and the chapel. Our walk in the gardens was cut short when it started to rain.

2017 | The Cotswolds, UK

We spent most of Easter Sunday in the Cotswolds. Our first stop was Burford, where the buildings are mostly honey-colored and the roofs are steep. We walked around High Street and looked into some of the shops. We later stopped for a quick coffee break in one of the cafes before heading out to the next village. After a short drive, we arrived at Stow-on-the-Wold and spent our time walking and photographing around Market Square. The last village we visited was Bourton-on-the-Water, this was my favorite place out of the three. From the carpark, we walked through wall-lined paths before reaching the village. The river Windrush runs through the village center, and several arched stone bridges are found throughout the village.
